Across the road from where I work, there is a little courtyard-like garden.
These beautiful flower heads grow there and are at their peak at the moment.
While the weather today was gloomy with sprinkles of rain, these just seemed to glow.
I have no idea what they are called, so if you can tell, I'd be very happy to know.
wow that blue is just amazing. I bet they attract lots of bees and butterflies?
ReplyDeleteYou're right Kath, lots of bees were about.
DeleteI wish I had my digital camera with me to take a close up with a bee on the pretty flowers. All I had was my mobile phone which has a pretty poor camera on it! Maybe next time.
I don't know what they are called :( but it's a very pretty shot!!
ReplyDeleteThanks TT. They seem to be pretty common around Sydney so hopefully some one will know what they're called.
DeleteI don't know what they are SP but they sure look nice - Dave
ReplyDeleteThanks Dave...I'm not having much luck with name...Speedwell perhaps.
DeleteHi Sweet Pea, I'm not sure if you got my last comment as the computer did something weird. Do you think these could be Cobalt Towers or Echiums? We grew some but they were much bigger - as high as our house. On checking our neighbourhood, the others were only shrub sized so ours must have had extra fertiliser.
ReplyDeleteI'll check that name out on in the internet Helen. I'm finding them everywhere at the moment. These ones are quite tall, probably about 8 feet tall and the flower heads are quite large. It would be nice to know their proper name.
DeleteAnd yes I did get you're last comment, thank you.
I think Helen might be right -I'm going for Echiums.
